News

Starting November 1, 2021 and running through March 14, 2022 is a FREE online series of talks on Algebra, Particles, and Quantum theory.

The subjects of these seminars have quite a range: leaning more heavily on quantum theory initially, and then migrating into algebra and particle physics.  You are more than welcome to join in at any point.

These seminars are organized by Nicole Furey, who will be one of our speakers at our 2022 JMM AMS Special Session on Quaternions (Seattle, WA Jan 5, 2022).

For access to the Algebra, Particles, and Quantum Theory Serminar  go to

Quaternion Session Schedule

Some of us will be participating in the New Trends in Quaternions and Octonions workshop which has been organized by colleagues in Europe.  See below and the following link for more information:

The Fifth Workshop New Trends in Quaternions and Octonions – NTQO 2021 aims to present recent advances in the research on quaternions and octonions gathering scientists working in pure as well as applied mathematics, scientific computation and applications in physics, engineering and other applied sciences.
This workshop represents an opportunity to discuss recent developments in the field of quaternions and octonions, may they be theoretical, computational or real-world applications.

The workshop will take place at University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, November 26-27, and will count with several invited lectures and short communications.

Due to the current pandemic situation, the NTQO 2021 can be run in a hybrid format (both speakers and participants may choose).

  • Helena AlbuquerqueUniversity of Coimbra, Portugal
  • Maria Joana SoaresUniversity of Minho, Portugal
  • Rolf Sören KraußharUniversity of Erfurt, Germany
